    Fuji apples
  • 1/4 cup
    Rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup
    Brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup
    Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp
    Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    Ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tbsp
    Melted butter
  • 1/4 cup
    Apple juice or water

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact to create a hollow center.
  3. In a bowl, mix the oats, brown sugar, nuts, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  5. Spoon the oat mixture into each apple’s center, packing it lightly.
  6. Place the apples in a baking dish and pour apple juice or water around the base to keep them moist.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the apples are tender.
