Stamppot (say it: STAHM-pot) literally means “mashed pot,” and that’s exactly what it is — a beloved Dutch tradition of mashing vegetables right into potatoes to create one warm, cozy dish. It’s been a staple of Dutch home cooking for hundreds of years, and every family has their own favorite version.
In the Netherlands, Stamppot is the dish people crave when the weather turns cold. It’s simple, filling, and made from ingredients that are easy to find anywhere.
