Jasper’s InstaPot Shrimp Boil
He has a great recipe to beat the summer heat. Just use an Insta pot! I love adding the Boulevard Beer instead of water for so much more flavor. I also add some red pepper flakes to make it a little spicier and if you want some fresh herbs, don’t hesitate!

Method
- Prep the Pot: In the Instant Pot, pour in 1 bottle of Boulevard Beer and 1/2 cup water. Add Old Bay, garlic, and the juice of half a lemon and orange (toss in the squeezed halves too).
- Layer the Ingredients: Add in order: • Halved potatoes • Onion chunks • Corn pieces
- Pressure Cook: • Seal the lid and set the valve to Sealing. • Select Pressure Cook or Manual on High Pressure for 5 minutes.
- Quick Release: • When the timer is up, carefully perform a quick release.
- Add the Shrimp: • Open the lid and layer the shrimp on top. Replace the lid and let sit for 3–4 minutes using the residual heat, or use Sauté mode and stir gently until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Drain & Finish: • Use a slotted spoon to remove everything to a large platter or tray. • Optional: Toss with melted butter, extra Old Bay, and squeeze the remaining half lemon over the top.
- Serve this shrimp boil over newspaper with garlic toast, melted butter, hot sauce & fresh lemon wedges.
